Automation Technician will support the Water Technology division. The Automation Technician Coordinates, manages, implements and/or performs service, upgrades, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and training for Shalestone Automated Equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair electronic equipment and systems used in oil and gas operations, including but not limited to:
- SCADA systems
- PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems
- Control Panels and Instrumentation
- Communication systems
- Data acquisition Systems
- Electrical Systems
- Calibrate sensors and 4-20mA loops
- Mobus registries, device ID assignment, 2 & 4 wire comms with ohm resistor
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of electronic equipment.
- Troubleshoot electronic systems and components to identify and resolve malfunctions of faults efficiently.
- Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and management to support ongoing operations, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement solutions.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents or incidents.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory of spare parts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Shift work on a 20/10 schedule minimum.
Job requirements
Requirements
- Proven experience as an I and E Technician in the oil and gas industry or a similar industrial setting, preferred 5 years experience.
- Strong understanding of electronic principles, circuits, and systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electronic equipment using diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electronic systems and safety.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in 3 years)
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as well as random drug testing
- Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing, routinely lifting up to 50 pounds, and heavy cleanup work of an industrial site.
- Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties such as hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suite, hot gloves, and high voltage protective equipment, etc.
